Great food and attractive location. The owners are very nice, you can buy good food as well as delicious wine here.

I went to their restaurant with friends last Friday. Really, it was delicious; the food was of a very good quality. In addition, there was a wonderful atmosphere there, in which - even in the Covit times - you felt cared for and at ease. I particularly liked the very appreciative interaction between the boss and employees, which we as guests were able to experience directly. Respect! Keep it up. I'll be back for sure 

We chose the Gasthaus Herrig based on the reviews. Actually a stopgap solution, but we were totally surprised what awaited us there. The small garden rooms with outdoor seating are ideal for comfort on mild summer evenings. The "De Lux Wandergenuss" offer was very well thought out and extremely generous for us guests. Hiking recommendations were conveyed specifically and clearly. The innkeepers were extremely nice and the food was so great that we were looking forward to the latest culinary surprises every evening. It was a perfect match. We came across Gasthaus Herrig on the Internet by chance. What a positive surprise. A beautiful little country inn with a chic dining room designed in the style of a threshing floor and a wonderful terrace that adjoins it and turns into a herb garden. The Herrig family is already running the inn in the fifth generation - with passion. The rooms are cozy (tip: garden room with a terrace and view of a meadow), the breakfast varied. The team is friendly all round, the boss gives advice on excursions, bike tours and hikes. The special thing: the kitchen. Thomas Herrig was already consistently relying on regional and seasonal products when this was still ridiculed. This has long been a trend and Thomas Herrig is the flagship of the region. Simple, regional dishes, puristic, cooked with a lot of love and above all understanding. The cooked beef melts on the tongue, from the potato soup you can almost taste the earth in which the tubers ripened. The Eifel pork with Monschau mustard, goat cheese and lingonberries is incredibly good. Vegetarians will also be happy. An evening with a menu and correspondingly an extensive wine tasting commented on by Thomas Herrig is unforgettable. Conclusion: The (unfortunately no longer a secret) tip in the southern Eifel. We had booked the 5-day package "DeLux Wandergenuss in Meckel" and were thrilled. There was nothing to complain about. Great hosts, very friendly staff, nice room (garden room with a small terrace) and the evening menus were excellent at a dinner. Great moderated by the host Thomas Herrig. He and his wife are passionate about the task. The daily suggested hikes were great, including the "preliminary talk" with Herr Herrig. Overall we were thrilled and will be back Price-performance ratio

Always worth a visit! Here the chef cooks personally. Local products and dishes from the Eifel are freshly prepared and interpreted in a modern way. The service is super friendly. Great events on certain culinary topics are also often offered. In summer very nice outdoor terrace with garden.

Today the last day at Gasthaus Herrig, unfortunately. Goods are not the last time here, had booked the hiking week, have been spoiled as it was described and over there. Loved the scenery and the hospitality here always gladly again, as already written were not the last time here. Regional cuisine a dream not too much promised
